Hot Springs High School
Class of 1964

DEAR CLASSMATES,

This is to let you know of the plans that have been scheduled to date. October 16 -18 is going to be a FUN FILLED WEEKEND.

We want to thank you for your participation with the survey which has been very helpful to the committee. It shows the interest that everyone has taken to be a part of the CLASS OF 1964 45th REUNION.

Friday night a mixer will be at the Brick House Grill in beautiful downtown Hot Springs. Owners Peggy Parker Janske and her husband Alan will be hosting. There will be light appetizers and a cash bar.

Saturday morning there will be a memorial service at Garvan Gardens to remember our deceased class mates. Admission will be paid for you to tour the gardens either before or after the service.

Saturday evening will highlight what everyone has been anticipating. The event will be held at the Hot Springs Country Club. It promises to be a night to remember with food, music, dancing, video presentation……

Peggy Janske has requested that if you have a favorite song from our high school days, to please email it to her at janske@prodigy.net.

The committee has set a price of $50 per person for the all the activities that weekend. We are now accepting payment and reservations for those who plan to come. Make your check payable to HSHS Class of '64 and mail to:
Sandra Wheatley Wilson
132 Oscar Gray Rd
Hot Springs, AR 71913
We will let you know if more activities are scheduled. We do hope that you will put these dates on your calendar as it will be great to visit with our friends.

Another letter will follow later finalizing exact times and any scheduled changes.

Thank you,
The Reunion Committee

Our condolences go out to Judi Richardson Sanders.

Bill “Beans” Sanders went on to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2. He is now with his parents who predeceased him, the late Rev. George J. Sanders and Fannie B. Sanders, whom he loved so dearly. He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Judi A. Sanders; his daughter and friend Stephanie and her husband, Jeremy Riffle; and a son, W. Shaun Sanders and his wife; three brothers, Don “Bucky” Sanders, George “Jim” Sanders, Herschel Sanders; and one sister, Mary L. Cook; his beautiful granddaughters, Mallory and Grier Riffle and Katelyn, Austin; and one grandson, Hunter; and many nieces and nephews who absolutely adored him.
Beans graduated from Henderson State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Shortly thereafter, he and Judi opened their first business named Pop-N-Pizza in 1971, where they worked successfully until selling it in 1984. During this time, they opened a second business called Pop-n-Pizza South in 1978. They began their third adventure in 1989, when they opened Beano’s Pizza. They enjoyed great success and made many, many friends throughout the years, due in large part to the kind and giving nature of Beans. Our hearts are made glad by the wonderful deeds we have seen by him through the years and for those we are just now learning of.
He loved and breathed music. He was an avid Elvis fan from his very early years and throughout his adulthood. His love for gospel music and passion for life will long be a part of our memories as we think back fondly on all the love he shared, all the laughs and his silly antics.
A life celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Pentecostal Church, 222 E. Grand Ave. in Hot Springs with the Revs. Stacey Sanders and Robert Harrison officiating. The body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Arkansas Hospice or to the Master’s Table Ministry. Honorary pallbearers are his siblings and in-laws, Bucky and Frankie Sanders, Mary and Eugene Cook, Jim and Linda Sanders, Herschel and Wanda Sanders; his nephews who worked by his side in the pizza business, Doug and Lance Sanders; his many nieces and nephews; Jack and Brenda Richardson, Doctors Muldoon and Sorrels; his many friends over the years, including the Lakeside Class of ’64.
The family will be at 114 Channelview Drive.
